About CMI
CMI is a Galion, Ohio based manufacturer of air brake products for original
equipment trucks, chassis, buses, and trailers. Products offered include
bulkhead fittings, brake chamber and slider axle hose assemblies, gladhands, air
brake brass fittings, nylon air brake tubing, bulk rubber J1402 hose, springs,
air tanks, and valve nipples.
Started in early 2001 amidst the deepest recession to face the industry in more
than a half century, CMI was nonetheless able to thrive and grow. Our commitment
to timely delivery and top notch quality propelled the company to industry's
forefront, and helped make CMI the leading producer of trailer air hose
assemblies in the U.S.
In June of 2002, CMI was presented with the prestigious Super Seal Valued
Vendor Award by Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, Nebraska. Soon thereafter, the
Galion Area Chamber of Commerce named CMI its Industry of the Year.
As our product line grows steadily, so does the number of markets we serve. In
June of 2003, CMI added shop air hose items and industrial brass fittings to its
product line, and began supplying industrial distributors with pipe,
compression, flare, hose barb, and 45 degree flare style fittings. Featured in
our new 88-page catalog, these additions to the line give the CMI product
offering a more complete and well-rounded appeal. In addition, the heavy duty
aftermarket portion of our business has grown steadily, and now comprises nearly
half of all our sales. Our products can be purchased at hundreds of warehouse
distributors throughout the states.
Our manufacturing complex is located just minutes from Interstate 71, and can
be seen from the newly built U.S. Route 30 interchange at Ohio route 598.
